Patrick Wolf has said he is determined to enjoy performing to live audiences again, over a year after he threatened to quit the music industry.
In an interview with Gigwise, Wolf said he stopped touring in 2007 because it had begun to feel like a “curse”.
“Whilst it's very exciting and very rewarding, it's also very lonely,” he said.
"Once the shows over you're in your hotel room and staring out a window Lost in Translation-style and I'm not gonna do that anymore. I wanna see the world and enjoy it this time."
He added: "When I was doing really optimistic shows I'd be smiling through a lot of it, whilst that was happening I actually was very depressed and not really looking after myself"
Wolf details his problems with depression on his forthcoming album, 'Battle', which is released this Spring.
As previously reported on Gigwise, the album features a spoken word narrative from actress Tilda Swinton.
