Amy Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is seeking a divorce on the grounds of her alleged infidelity.
Fielder-Civil’s solicitor Henri Brandman said he had been instructed by his client to commence proceedings against the singer.
The couple married in Miami in May 2007 but have faced a constant string of personal problems, including Winehouse’s drug addiction.
Fielder-Civil is currently serving a 27-month prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a pub landlord and perverting the course of justice.
In a statement, Mr Brandman said: "I can confirm that I have been instructed to commence divorce proceedings on the grounds of Amy's adultery.”
As previously reported on Gigwise, Winehouse is currently on holiday in the Caribbean, where she has been linked to a 21-year old actor.
