U2's Bono To Launch New York Times Column This Sunday

U2 frontman Bono will begin an occasional opinion column in the New York Times newspaper on Sunday (January 11th).

The singer will also produce a podcast for the column, which will cover a broad range of topics.

Bono said the responsibility was “an honour”, but joked that he had "never been great with the full stops or commas".

New York Times editor Andrew Rosenthal described the singer as “an extraordinary man who thinks deeply about his art and the major issues confronting the world."

As previously reported on Gigwise, U2 are due to release their new album, 'No Line On The Horizen', on March 2nd.
