US president-elect Barack Obama has personally invited an Irish band to perform at his inauguration in Washington DC later this month.
The Corrigan Brothers impressed the democrat during his presidential campaign with their song 'There's No One As Irish As Barack O'Bama'.
The song features the chorus: "O'Leary, O'Reilly, O'Hare and O'Hara...there's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama."
The band will perform the song, which is already an internet phenomenon, at the day parade on the Irish American float, and also at Mr Obama's official inauguration party.
The Corrigan Brothers wrote the song after discovering Mr Obama's great, great, great grandfather, Falmouth Kearney, was born in County Offaly, before emigrating to the US in 1850.
After further research into the president-elect's Irish heritage, they also found that he has relatives living in both Ireland and the UK.
The band, who have signed a record deal with Universal, played live in Moneygall, the Irish village where Mr Obama's relatives originate, on election night last November.
As previously reported on Gigwise, US rapper Jay-Z will perform a one off show in Washington DC a day before the inauguration.
