X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has become the first British female solo artist to sell more than one million copies of a single.
Burke's cover of 'Hallelujah' by Leonard Cohen has topped the charts since she won the talent contest four weeks ago.
The song, which sold over 600,000 copies in its first week, is also destined to become the best-selling single by a female artist of any nationality this decade.
The current record holder, Kylie's Minogue's 'Spinning Around', sold 1.1million copies in 2000.
As previously reported on Gigwise, the publicity around Burke's cover brought Cohen's original and a version by Jeff Buckley back into the UK charts.
