Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and Jack White both influenced the new U2 album, guitarist The Edge has revealed.
The Edge said both acts had inspired him when they performed together in the recent recent documentary, It Might Get Loud.
"I was just fascinated with seeing how Jimmy played those riffs so simply, and with Jack as well,” he told Rolling Stone.
U2 are due to release their new album, 'No Line On The Horizon', on March 2nd.
As previously reported on Gigwise, U2 have warned fans not to buy tickets for a series of summer dates which have been advertised online.
“No tickets are available and no shows have been announced,” a band statement said.
