Michael Jackson has moved back to Los Angeles in order to embark on the “second half” of his career, his spokesman has said.
Jackson, 50, has signed a year-long lease on a French château-style property in the Bel Air neighbourhood, which includes a private cinema.
Jackson's spokesman, Tohme Tohme, told the LA Times that the singer wanted to be closer to "where all the action (in the entertainment industry) is".
The singer, who has been living in the house for a month, left his Neverland ranch in California in 2005 shortly after he was acquitted of all charges in a child molestation court case.
Jackson has spent the last three years living in different properties around the world.
Last November, the singer was reportedly forced to transfer the deeds to Neverland, which includes a zoo and theme park, into a separate company due to spiralling costs.
A number of items from the ranch, including its infamous gates, are due to go up for auction in April.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Jackson's spokesman said last month that the singer was “in fine health” and planning a new tour.
He told the newspaper yesterday that "the second half (of Jackson's career) will be better than the first."
