A duo made up of twin sisters and an all-male quintet who call themselves the Emperors Of Soul are among Britain's hopefuls for the 2009 Eurovision song contest.
Two male, and two female solo artists have also been selected by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber to compete to win the chance to represent the country this spring.
The acts will be whittled down over the coming weeks during a series of heats on the BBC One show, Your Country Needs You.
The eventual winner, who will have their entry written by Lloyd Webber, will be chosen by the public.
As previously reported on Gigwise, despite his involvement in the process, Lloyd Webber said last week that the UK wouldn't win the contest.
“We're not going to win it, let's face it. I don't think that's possible, but at the same time we could have a laugh along the way,” he told the BBC.
Britain's two female hopefuls are Charlotte, an Essex teenager, and Jade, who claims to be the next Rihanna. The male soloists are a Welshmen and a London-born singer.
Last year, the UK’s entrant Andy Abrahams, a former X-Factor contestant, finished joint last, scoring points from Ireland and San Marino.
