The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has revealed that the group put the majority of their new album together via email.
The Las Vegas band exchanged frequent correspondence with producer Stuart Price, who is based in London, while penning tracks for 'Day & Age'.
"It made it real fresh, I think. It was almost like pre-production was underway as soon as we hit 'send' on an idea,” Flowers told AV Club.
“He'd send something back, and we'd all fight about it, or embrace about it, and then we met for a month and sealed the deal."
But Flowers said the group were disappointed to learn that they weren't the first band to produce an entire album electronically.
"I just read this article on that new [Brian] Eno and [David] Byrne record. They did exactly what we did,” he said.
“They emailed the whole thing, and then got together for two weeks and finished it. They beat us to the punch. We thought we were gonna be, you know, matadors."
The Killers are due to return to the UK this Spring for a full arena tour.
