Kings of Leon were paid £300,000 to play a private gig for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, it’s been reported.
The group are understood to have performed a one hour set at the festive function in New York last Monday (December 29th).
“Kings Of Leon are one of the biggest bands around at the moment and Roman is a big fan,” a source told the Sun newspaper.
“He had to pay a premium to get them to play the gig over Christmas because they were taking a well-earned break with their family after a very busy year.”
Mariah Carey is understood to have been among the celebrities who attended the event.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Abramovich paid Amy Winehouse a reported £1million to play a private concert in Russia last June.
