Hayley Williams has promised that Paramore’s new album will lyrically be “very different” from their previous efforts.
Williams told MTV that she has “a lot that I want to get out” – but admitted she didn’t know what she would say specifically.
“Lyrically, I think it's going to be a very different record — we've learned a lot about relationships and friendships and life in general,” she said.
The singer added: "[We've been getting inspired by] life, really. It's not one specific instance or record or book or anything.”
To date, Paramore have remained tight-lipped on the follow-up to 2007’s ‘Riot!’.
Earlier this month, Williams refused to speak about the project, only to confirm that it was “in the earliest stage possible”.
However, in a wide-ranging interview, bassist Jeremy Davis said the group’s eclectic taste in music would ensure the as-yet-untitled record feature “different things going on”.
Drummer Zac Farro added: "Just because we did well on the last one, we don't think we can go in and make a great record without having to try. We're going to work just as hard, if not harder, this time around."
Although a release date has not been confirmed, Paramore’s new album is expected in 2009.
