US rapper Kanye West has begun chanting spiritual songs in order to improve his singing voice, according to reports.
The rapper, who chose to sing rather than rap on his latest album, is also apparently hopeful that the chants will frigten away evil spirits.
“Kanye has started this strange new ritual of chanting these spiritual songs. He thinks it rids his space of ghosts and spirits,” a source told the Sun newspaper.
“He reckons his singing will improve if he gets rid of the demons.”
As previously reported on Gigwise, West recently defended his decision to sing on new album ‘808s and Heartbreak’ after it drew a mixed response from critics.
