Will Young is set to feature as a guest panellist on Question Time next year.
The Pop Idol winner was asked to guest on the BBC politics show after he said he was a fan of it in a radio interview in October.
Now Question Time editor Gill Penlington has asked the singer to appear on a February edition of the TV show.
Young told the BBC: "As an avid viewer of Question Time being in the hot seat is something I've always wanted to do. As the day gets closer rest assured I'll be swotting up on the hot topics."
Gill Penlington added: "We are absolutely thrilled to have Will as a panellist. He knows his stuff politically and it will be fascinating to hear him taking on the politicians about the big issues the day."
