Whitney Houston has been sued by her stepmother, Barbara, over a life insurance policy left by her late father, who died in 2003.
Barbara Houston claims the singer improperly kept the $1million policy instead of using part of it to pay her father's home mortgage.
Houston's stepmother, who still lives at the home in New Jersey, said the singer should have used $723,000 to pay the mortgage and given the rest of the money to her.
Neither Houston nor her stepmother would comment on the lawsuit, according to the Associated Press.
Houston is currently recording her first studio album since 2003.
Earlier this year, a new song, entitled 'Like I Never Left', which featured both Houston and rapper Akon appeared online.
