US rapper Akon must complete 65 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty to harassing a fan at a concert in New York.
Abby Rosa claimed she suffered concussion when a fan the rapper threw off stage landed on her at the Dutchess Stadium in June 2007.
The rapper will not face jail as long as he completes his community service and pays a $250 fine, the Associated Press news agency reports.
As previously reported on Gigwise, the rapper was provoked after he was apparently hit by a missile thrown from within the crowd.
He then called on security to pull the alleged culprit from the crowd. When the fan appeared on stage, the rapper picked him up and threw him back into the crowd.
It is at this point that Rosa claims she was struck by the falling fan.
Akon’s actions were caught on video and published on the video sharing website YouTube. He declined to comment when he left Fishkill Town Justice Court today (December 17th).
