Who Should Be Christmas Number Two?
Share

Happy Christmas everyone. Yes, it's the time of year when waistlines expand, dogs are suddenly for life, and the winner of The X Factor ticks off their first career goal: becoming Christmas number one.

But what about the people who aren't called Alexandra Burke? The artists (and broadcasters in Terry Wogan's case) who haven't just emerged as the winner of a twelve week publicity campaign?

Well, this year there are more than ever fighting it out for the now coveted Christmas number two spot – a battle which, for just one week a year, makes the singles chart hold some minor relevance.

Below, are the videos for the five acts the bookies have tipped for festive success.

Which one do you like the most? Are there any that could keep Burke's cover of 'Hallelujah' off the top spot? Indeed, are there any that actually deserve to?

  • Putting a choir on a song like hallaluja is just lazy crap.It is not a cristmas song ,did none of the x factor idiots read the lyrics? Dickie dum dum by des oconnor is not about some dodgy bullets, born to run is not about the olympics and hallaluja is not a christmas song that requires the full ( overused ) gospel chior treatment. The song has been killed. Buy a version that is credible Buckley or cale will do and stop the dumbing down of the music scene with purile rubbish like the x factor
