Florence and The Machine has won the Brit Awards' Critics' Choice Award for 2009.
The singer was chosen by journalists and music industry representatives ahead of Little Boots and White Lies, who placed second and third respectively on the shortlist.
Florence and The Machine will collect her prize at the Brit Awards in London on February 18th.
The singer, who is currently recording her debut album, thanked critics who had chosen her.
“I will see you at the awards I'll be the one trying to get off with Katy Perry and passed out next to Leona Lewis,” she added.
The full nominations for next year's awards ceremony will be announced at a launch party in London next month.
