T in the Park organisers have warned fans that a Hungarian-based website advertising tickets for next year's festival does not have an allocation for the event.
Organisers Big Day Out said people should not give their credit card details to the website, www.tinthepark2009.com.
The festival is taking legal action against the website, which promoter DF Concerts said was “100% unofficial”.
Meanwhile, organisers have applied to expand the capacity of next year's festival to 85,000.
Organisers Big Day Out also hope that the Scottish festival, which will take place from July 10th-12th, will be allowed to open its gates a day earlier for the public in 2009.
The proposals are due to be considered by Perth and Kinross Council tomorrow (December 12th)
