M.I.A has revealed that she is expecting a new baby on the day she will find out whether she has won a Grammy Award.

The singer’s hit ‘Paper Planes’ has been nominated for Record of the Year at the ceremony on February 8th – the same day her baby is due.

Under the heading 'Baby + Grammy', M.I.A wrote on her MySpace page: “IS DUE THE SAME DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, so either way I figured I'll win.”

She also promised to “never diss” the ceremony again if she won and revealed that she was currently working in the studio.

As previously reported on Gigwise, M.I.A is one of a host of British stars nominated for a Grammy award next year.
