Michael Jackson has approached X Factor band JLS to see whether they could support him on tour, according to reports.
Jackson has apparently asked to meet the group’s mentor on the talent show, Louis Walsh, to discuss a series of UK shows.
Walsh said it was “fantastic news”, adding: "If talks go well then going on tour with Michael would be an amazing opportunity for JLS."
Speculation about whether Jackson, who is said to be a big fan of The X Factor, will tour again has been rife over recent months.
The singer is currently recording a new studio album, which is due to be released next year.
A source told the Mirror newspaper: "Michael has been an avid fan of the X Factor since the beginning.
"He loves musical themed reality shows and keeps up with it on the internet.
"When JLS came on, he was immediately drawn to them because he said they reminded him of a young Jackson 5.
"They would be a perfect warm up act for the UK dates of his tour.
"Michael can, and has changed his mind about touring for the last couple of years.”
As previously reported on Gigwise, a promoter at London’s O2 Arena recently dodged questions when asked to confirm rumours Jackson was in talks to play the venue.
