New bands will have the chance to win a slot at the 2009 edition of the Glastonbury Festival, organisers have revealed.
Acts not signed to a major level can upload two tracks onto the festival’s official website from January 26th.
A panel of judges, including founder Michael Eavis, will then select a winner who will perform on one of the festival’s main stages.
For the first time, the public will also be able to select a wild-card entry who will go forward to the finals at the Queen’s Head on the eve of the event next June.
Previous winners of the festival’s new bands competition have included The Subways and Scouting For Girls.
Next year's festival will run from June 26th-28th.
