Slash has revealed that when he formed Velvet Revolver he wanted them to sound like his former band Guns N' Roses.
The guitarist, who left Guns N' Roses acrimoniously in the early 90s, said their ambition only changed with the addition of singer Scott Weiland, who left earlier this year.
"We wrote a ton of shit that was really heavy, and it was sort of what you'd expect us to sound like," Slash told Spinner.
"And then it changed to fit the whole Scott [Weiland] vibe."
Slash also spoke about Velvet Revolver's ongoing search to find a replacement for Weiland, admitting that it is a “hard spot to fill”.
"But I think we can really put together a record where people will be like, 'Now that's what I'm talking about,” he added.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Slash recently praised Guns N' Roses new album 'Chinese Democracy', saying he was “glad” frontman Axl Rose had finally released it.

Steve - We7

- perhaps they should stop looking dump sorum and rejoin guns with adler and izzy. I not sure slash could play tracks on democracy though - some of the solos are beyond his skill level.

- uhh you mean bandmate? singular buddy axl's the only one left

- As Dizzy Read is still playing that kind of makes it two left by my finger arithmatics, so We7Steve is correct.

- Dizzy Who? Isn't that the KEYBOARD player they picked up for the Use your illusion fiasco? I wouldn't call him an original member of the band
