Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has said the band deserve to be regarded as contemporaries to the Rolling Stones.
The guitarist told Rolling Stone magazine that the band had achieved a similar level of global recognition as the veteran group.
“We're not going to turn any new people on to Oasis. Oasis is a band that you either get it or you don't. Everybody knows who we are. You have to see us in league with the Rolling Stones now,” he said.
“Everybody's heard of the Stones, everybody knows what they sound like, everybody knows what they do. You either go because you like it or you don't. It's easy.”
As previously reported on Gigwise, Oasis will play a huge UK stadium tour next summer, which includes dates at London's Wembley stadium.
Tickets for the gigs are on sale now and available through Gigwise here or by calling our ticket hotline on 0871 230 1098.
