The Twilight Sad Parody Seminal Sonic Youth Album Cover
The Twilight Sad have parodied the seminal artwork to Sonic Youth's 'Goo' on their upcoming album 'Killed My Parents and Hit The Road'.
The Scottish band's limited edition record, set for release through Fat Cat on December 8, compiles live tracks, rarities and three cover versions: Joy Division's 'Twenty Four Hours', The Smiths' 'Half A Person' and 'Modern Romance' by Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
The cover is derived from the cartoon drawing on the front of 1990's 'Goo' and the text which reads: “I stole my sister's boyfriend. It was all whirlwind, heat and flash. Within a week we killed my parents and hit the road.”
Gigwise recently paid homage to some of the greatest album cover parodies of all time, including awesome mimics of 'Kid A', 'Nevermind' and 'Atom Heart Mother'.
