AC/DC will not be headlining the 2009 edition of Scotland's T in the Park festival, organisers have said.
Tabloid reports had claimed the group had signed a “top secret” deal to appear at the event.
But organiser Geoff Ellis said he wanted to quash the speculation so fans wouldn't buy tickets under false pretences.
"I can confirm that AC/DC will not be playing at T In The Park 2009," Ellis said.
"We do not want AC/DC fans to buy a ticket for T In The Park under false pretences as this would not only disappoint them, but also the many people desperate to get their hands on a T In The Park ticket regardless of the headliner."
At present, no acts for next year's festival, which takes place from July 10th-12th, have been confirmed.
AC/DC are currently touring in support of their latest album 'Black Ice'. Check out highlights from their recent concert in New York below.
