Little Man Tate have released a statement denying singer Jon Windle is a member of the British National Party (BNP) after a person with the same name appeared on the recently leaked members list.
The 'Jon Windle' featured on the list also hails from Sheffield; unfortunately the Little Man Tate man's home city.
Refuting suggestions it is the same person, a statement on the band's official website reads: “Little Man Tate would like to assure their fans that the Jon Windle that has appeared on the leaked list of BNP members is not the band’s vocalist. Jon has never associated himself with the BNP in any form.”
The BNP members' list appeared online last Monday (November 17) and included the names and personal membership details of an array of people including police officers and teachers. It can still be seen online now.
The Love Music Hate Racism campaign called for BNP members to be 'isolated from public life' in a statement released last week.
