Kylie Minogue pocketed a reported £2million last night (November 20th) as she helped open the Atlantis Palm Jumeirah hotel in Dubai.
The singer was one of a host of guests at the star-studded event, which is believed to have cost organisers £15million.
The 1,539-room Atlantis hotel is built on a palm-shaped artificial island and features an aquarium capable of holding 65,000 fish and a whale shark.
Guests, who will be expected to pay a minimum of £300-a-night, are also able to swim with dolphins in a separate tank.
The hotel laughed off fears of the global financial crisis by revealing that it had been at 80% capacity since opening in September.
Lily Allen, The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr and girlfriend Agyness Deyn were among guests on the red carpet.
