Michael Jackson could be forced to attend legal proceedings in London despite being to unwell to travel, a lawyer has said.
Doctors for the singer said Jackson was awaiting medical test results in America and that “even in a best-case scenarios it would be unwise to travel”.
But lawyers for the second son of the King of Bahrain, who is suing Jackson for breach of contract, said Jackson's medical excuse was “very unsatisfactory”.
Bankim Thanki told London's high court today (November 18th) that the singer could be “bandaged up” and brought to England.
The case has been adjourned until Thursday (November 20th) to allow doctors from both legal teams to discuss the issue further, reports the BBC.
'Close Personal Relationship'
The Sheikh housed Jackson in Bahrain after he was acquitted of child molestation charges in 2005.
In return for his hospitality, the Sheik claims Jackson agreed to record new material at a purpose built studio at his former Neverland home, write an autobiography and put on a stage show.
The pair developed a "close personal relationship" during Jackson's stay, Mr Thanki told the court.
Yesterday (November 17th), the Sheik's lawyer said a track Jackson recorded would be played to the court during the 12-day trial.
Jackson has contested that a deal wasn't struck between the pair and said the financial donations were “gifts”.
The Sheik's case is based on "mistake, misrepresentation and undue influence”, he added.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Jackson last week lost ownership of his Neverland Ranch.
