Activision Blizzard, the makers of Guitar Hero, are currently working on a new arcade version of the video game, according to reports.
The game, scheduled for release in 2009, will feature “10 speakers, over 500 LED's, a 32” monitor and online cash tournaments”, an unnamed source told MTV.
At present, it's not clear what model of guitar the game will include or whether it will incorporate other instruments.
In September, unconfirmed reports hinted that DJ Hero, a spin off from Guitar Hero, had also gone into development.
Guitar Hero, which allows gamers to play instruments interactively, has become a massive hit since it was first released in autumn 2005.
The three standard editions of the game have so far sold 14million copies - earning publishers RedOctane $1billion.
