November 18, 2008 by Jason Gregory

The West Midlands arm of Galaxy radio was forced off air yesterday (November 17th) after an intruder disrupted a live broadcast on the station.

The unnamed man, who was later arrested by police, hijacked the station in the early hours of Monday morning claiming to have broken into the studios in Birmingham.

He managed to say a number of obscenities before the broadcast switched to the station's Yorkshire based sister channel.

A spokesperson for Galaxy confirmed that a man had “forced” his way into the studio but declined to comment on how he made it onto air.
