Singer and producer Todd Rundgren has confirmed that he is to record New York Dolls' next studio album.
Rundgren, who recorded the band's self-titled debut album in 1973, is due to enter the studio with the group in January.
New York Dolls frontman David Johansen said the band were "really excited to be working with Todd again."
He added: "We're hoping to recapture the same magic on the forthcoming album [that was on the debut]."
New Dolls are expected to announce a world tour in support of the record.
