Kelly Jones Reveals Robbie Williams And Rod Stewart Hotel Showdown

Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones has revealed that Robbie Williams and Rod Stewart had a showdown in a hotel in Los Angeles.

The incident took place just weeks after Williams began dating Stewart's former wife, model Rachel Hunter.

Jones said he was drinking with Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood at the Sunset Marquis when they met up with Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash and Stewart.

“We’re sat there and Rod gets up to go to the bathroom. Then I saw Robbie Williams walk into the hotel reception and head through to the bar,” Jones told the Sun newspaper.

“When Rod came back I mentioned it in passing that Robbie was there without thinking.

“It wasn’t long after Robbie had started seeing Rod’s old missus Rachel Hunter. When I mentioned it Rod got up and went through to set Robbie straight on a few things. He was rolling up his sleeves when he left.”

Jones added: “He came back through after as if nothing had happened but Robbie didn’t hang about.

“But you know Robbie’s all right, man. You can’t knock him for showin’ Ms Hunter a good time.”

Stewart met Hunter, 24 years his junior, when she was 21. The pair divorced in 2006 after sixteen years of marriage.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Jones yesterday denied reports which claimed Stereophonics were recording a Christmas single with Oasis.
