Mos Def Has Warrant Issued For His Arrest

Mos Def is currently wanted by the Las Vegas police department after an alleged incident that occurred last August.

The warrant was issued Tuesday, November 4 after photographer and victim Volker Correll was attacked on August 26 of 2007 at a fashion trade show in Las Vegas.

According to Correll, Mos Def (real name Dante Terrell Smith) ripped the camera from around his neck unexpectedly resulting in a cut left hand from the scuffle and a damanged camera. He claims the last four photos taken of Smith reveal him reaching towards him in the act.

"The last shot was his hands in front of the lens”, stated Correll according to the Associated Press.

Smith’s actions resulted in a robbery and destruction of property charge with repairs to the camera totaled at $178 according to court documents.

Mos Def is expected to turn himself into police by the end of the week.
