Amy Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, praised Barack Obama's US election victory as he left prison yesterday.
Fielder-Civil was released after serving a 27-month sentence for assault and perverting the course of justice.
Speaking to the Sun newspaper, Winehouse's husband compared his new found freedom with the president-elect's historic victory.
“It’s a welcome to the free world for me and Barack Obama. I heard about the US election on the car radio — it’s got to be good news,” he said.
Fielder-Civil, who was not greeted by his wife has he left prison, is to undergo a course of rehab.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Winehouse was pictured lashing out at members of the paparazzi in London last night.
The incident is said to have taken place after she went to pick up a medical prescription.
