Ozzy Osbourne will collect the Living Legend prize at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards in London later.
The Black Sabbath frontman said he was “looking forward” to attending and that it was nice to know he hadn't been “written off”.
Meanwhile, Led Zeppelin are nominated in three categories: Best Band, Best DVD and Event of the Year for their reunion show in London last December.
The one-off concert, which took place at the O2 Arena, was watched by 18,000 fans.
Last year Osbourne's prize went to Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, who attended the ceremony with a broken finger.
Other bands nominated this year include Def Leppard, Foo Fighters, Kiss and Whitesnake – all of whom will face Led Zeppelin in the Best Band category.
