Oasis' continued success, which just last week saw them sell 500,000 concert tickets in a day, defies gravity, according to the man responsible for their career.
Alan McGee, who discovered the band in the early 90s, admitted that he didn't think they would still be relevant nearly twenty years later.
"It was obvious Oasis were going to become successful," he told BBC 6Music. "That they were going to sell 54 million albums and go out and do a 168 date tour around the world this year.
"No, I couldn't have predicted that. I couldn't have predicted that in 2008 they were still going to be absolutely relevant and still mean a lot to a lot of people. They kind of defy gravity."
Such was the demand for Oasis' 2009 UK stadium tour that the group were forced to add additional shows in London and Manchester, as well as a new date in Coventry.
In a wide ranging interview, McGee also announced that he was on the verge of retiring from music.
He said: "I stopped doing the record company about a year or two ago because I think they're pointless things, like dinosaurs or trams or something.
"But I'm still completely into new music and I'm still doing things with new bands, as in my clubs and stuff like that. I'm still going to be kicking about.”
