US rapper Lil' Wayne is not signing to fellow hip-hop star Jay-Z's new record label, Roc Nation, his management have said.
Earlier this week, entertainment website MediaTakeOut claimed Jay-Z had paid Lil's Wayne's current record label, Cash Money, $5million in order to secure the deal
However, a spokesperson for Lil' Wayne has now denied the claims.
The deal would have united two of the hip-hop industry's biggest stars.
Lil' Wayne's latest album 'Tha Carter III' is the fastest selling album in America this year, shifting over one million copies in its first week during the summer.
Roc Nation forms part of Jay-Z's all-encompassing deal with concert promoter Live Nation. The company controls the rapper’s business and recording assets as part of the agreement.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Lil' Wayne came under fire yesterday from fans after he failed to perform at a concert in Boston.
According to the Boston Herald, Lil' Wayne was “unable or unwilling” to make his way through the event's security.
