US rappers Jay-Z and P Diddy have signed an open letter on behalf of Democrat Barack Obama's presidential campaign.
The letter, which has also been signed by Mary J. Blige and former Def Jam president Kevin Liles, encourages voters to prepare for Election Day next Tuesday (November 4th).
“With only 7 days left before we vote for change, let's hold ourselves accountable and responsible,” the letter says.
“No more excuses, no more mistakes and no more time to waste.
“If you have the opportunity to vote early in your state then vote today. If you are voting on November 4th, make preparation today. Bring your family and friends and plan for the party at the poles.”
All four have been strong supporters of Mr Obama's bid to become America's first black president.
Jay-Z has performed at a number of rallies on behalf of the Democrat campaign throughout 2008. His stage set has also featured giant images of Mr Obama.
The letter adds that if people turn out for Mr Obama and his running mate Joe Biden on November 4th they will help “make history”.
“We can not slow down. We can not let up. We must push through to history until the final vote is cast and the last ballot is counted. We can, we must, and we will Make It Happen,” they wrote.
