A security taskforce will target thieves who pray on music fans at festivals around the UK, it's been announced.
The body, part of the newly formed Association of Independent Festival (AIF), hopes to cut down campsite crime, and specifically tent theft.
Jim King, a spokesman for the AIF, said that although crime at festivals was “statistically low”, it is still an issue that should be addressed.
He said: "Customer experience and safety is a most important part of the whole festival experience and we want to act to ensure that customers have a great time at our events without experiencing the upsetting scenario of being a victim of crime."
In conjunction with the police and festival security teams, the AIF's taskforce will target known thieves as they try to enter a festival.
