Oasis Pay Tribute To James Bond In London Add to My Fav Bands List

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher paid tribute to James Bond actor Daniel Craig during the band's performance in London last night (October 26th).

Craig was one of a host of celebrities who watched the group as they closed the BBC Electric Proms at Camden's Roundhouse.

As Gallagher pointed out famous faces in the audience, he made special note of Craig, whose second outing as Bond is released in cinemas this week.

"James Bond is upstairs, I might see if I can blag it so that he can get me the next James Bond theme tune instead of fucking dopey Americans doing it all the time,” he said.

The guitarist later pointed out comedian Russell Brand to the audience, which drew chants of 'Who are you?'

"Russell will have been up there tonight trying to wangle some introduction to James Bond so he can become some effeminate James Bond baddie,"Gallagher told the audience.

Oasis were joined by the Crouch End Chorus choir for six songs of their performance, which fused old classic with tracks from their new album 'Dig Out Your Soul'.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Oasis' 2009 UK stadium tour sold out in less than 24 hours last Friday (October 24th), becoming one of the fastest selling tours in UK history.

  • Oasis sounded utterly shit. Liam's voice was crap, Noel mistimed intro to Cigs and the choir added nothing. License to kill your reputation.

  • I was there, and they were poor. Miserable cliched no jacket required Clarkson pub rock, listlessly delivered but a band who realise that they haven't had a good idea since their first album. Choir criminally underused. Waste of £25.
