Lil Wayne Welcomes Birth Of Baby Son

US rapper Lil' Wayne has welcomed the birth of his first son at a hospital in Cincinnati, US media reports claim.

The rapper has named the child Dwayne Carter III, although the identity of his mother is unknown.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Lil' Wayne only revealed that he was awaiting the arrival of the child last weekend.

He told the crowd at the BET Hip-Hop awards – where he won three prizes – that he was expecting a son in “a couple of days”.

He added later: "I got a son about to be born any day now, so shout-out to him. Pray for me."

The rapper also announced this week that he planned to re-release his latest album, 'Tha Carter III', with an entirely new tracklisting.

Lil' Wayne said the new edition of the album would include a collaboration with Ludacris, which was left off the original LP.
