Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford has revealed that the band have paused recording sessions for their new album.
The group entered the studio last month to begin making the follow-up to 2004's 'Honkin' On Bobo'.
Despite a number of fruitful sessions, Whitford said the group had left the studio – but hoped to return as soon as possible.
"We're sitting on a bunch of music we've already recorded for a new album," he told Billboard.
"We haven't gone back into the studio the put the final touches on it and get it done and still don't know when we're gonna do that. Hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later."
As previously reported on Gigwise, frontman Steven Tyler promised fans recently that the new album would be “just your usual Aerosmith”.
Tyler spent time in rehab earlier this summer in a bid to kick an addiction to prescription medication.
