Lil Wayne's Assistant Admits Guns And Drugs Have Been On Tour Bus

US rapper Lil' Wayne's assistant has told a court in New York that he has witnessed people smoking marijuana on the rapper's tour bus.

But Terry Bourgeois, who also admitted he had occasionally seen a handgun, said he didn't know whether either item had been on the bus when it was searched by police last year.

Last month, a police officer claimed she saw Lil' Wayne trying to conceal a bag containing a .9mm handgun when she boarded the bus in July 2007.

A pre-trial hearing was also told that Diane Hornung discovered a man attempting to marijuana down the toilet.

She had boarded the bus on suspicion that the drug was being consumed and after someone looked through its curtains.

The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael, has pleaded not guilty to illegal gun possession.

Lil' Wayne's lawyer, Stacey Richman, argues that the case should be dropped because the police officer stopped the bus “without probable cause”.

If found guilty, the rapper, who has been one of the prolific artists of 2008, faces up to four years in prison.
