The process of selecting a jury in the murder retrial of Phil Spector, who is accused of killing a b-movie actress, has begun in Los Angeles.
Superior Court Judge Larry Paul told eighteen potential jurors yesterday (October 20th) that he was looking for people who did not “have an agenda”.
The music producer's original trial last year resulted in a hung jury.
Spector, who is responsible for the pioneering Wall of Sound recording technique, is accused of murdering Lana Clarkson at his home in Los Angeles in 2003.
However, his defence team argues that Clarkson killed herself as a result of her struggling acting career.
If found guilty, Spector could face up to 15 years in prison. Jury selection will continue throughout this week.
