Radiohead have finally revealed the full report of sales stats from their album ‘In Rainbows’ a little over a year after its been released.
Conclusive statistics were made at the “You Are In Control” conference in Reykjavik, Iceland which unveiled that the band has sold a total of 3 million albums so far including downloads from Radiohead.com, physical copies of the CD, a deluxe 2-CD/vinyl box set, as well as sales via iTunes and other digital retailers.
Its been reported that the deluxe box set sales totaled 100,000 copies while a release in January 2008 on iTunes still sold 30,000 copies despite its official pay-what-you-like digital self release on October 10, 2007.
The physical release of the album in January 2008 also managed to hit #1 on the UK and US charts as well.
As previously reported on Gigwise, ‘In Rainbows’ made the band more money prior to its physical release than its total take on 2003's ‘Hail To the Thief’.
