Sir Elton John is writing a musical comedy about AIDS with Hollywood actor Ben Stiller.
The musical’s storyline features a gay Broadway actor who suffers from the symptoms of AIDS and has the return to his former wife and children.
Sir Elton told GQ magazine that the idea is “very funny” despite its serious subject matter.
“The premise doesn’t sound funny but it is. All right?” he said.
Sir Elton also explained that he isn’t usually a musical fan unless he’s involved in them.
“I’m quite fussy about it. I don’t really like them unless I’m involved in them for some reason.”
At present, it’s not clear when the musical is expected to debut.
