US rapper Jay-Z dedicated his hit song '99 Problems' to presidential hopeful John McCain and his Republican running mate Sarah Palin during a DJ set in Los Angeles last night (October 16th).
The rapper DJ'd alongside DJ AM, who last month survived a plane crash which killed four people, for two hours at the Hollywood Palladium.
Before introducing '99 Problems', Jay-Z said he was playing the song for Mr McCain and his “homegirl”, explaining that he was referring to “the one who says 'You Betcha'”.
"I'm gonna get in trouble for this, but **** it, this is freedom of speech,” he told the crowd.
Fellow hip-hop star T.I. also joined the rapper for a rendition of 'Swagger Like Us' during the set.
Jay-Z is one of a number of musicians who have openly voiced their support for Mr McCain's rival, democrat Barack Obama.
