A man who killed his wife after she updated her relationship status to “single” on the social networking website Facebook has been jailed for life.
34-year-old Wayne Forrester told police he had been left “totally devastated and humiliated” when his wife, Emma, began looking to meet other men.
The Old Bailey heard how Forrester stabbed his wife with a knife and a meat cleaver last February at their marital home in South London.
The HGV driver, who was high on drink and drugs at the time, beat Ms Forrester and pulled her hair out while she was still asleep. She was 34.
Neighbours raised the alarm when they discovered Forrester sitting outside the couple's home covered in blood.
Forrester pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing. He has been sentenced to 14 years earlier.
