Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has distanced himself from a campaign to have the band honoured with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Rocky Dickerson, a life long fan of the band, wrote to each band member to request permission to nominate them for the honour.
But Page is understood to have told Dickerson not to proceed with the idea.
"He [Page] has asked me to thank you for this interest but he does not feel that this is something that he can endorse," Page's spokesman told Yahoo.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Led Zeppelin's Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham are understood to be planning a tour without frontman Robert Plant.
Last month, Plant announced that he had no plans to return to the band after a newspaper claimed he had agreed to a new tour.
In a statement, Plant said he found the constant speculation around the band's future “frustrating and ridiculous”, and insisted that he “will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin”.
Calls for a Led Zeppelin reunion tour have been consistent since the bands reunion show at the O2 Arena last December, which attracted 1 million applicants for just 9,000 pairs of tickets.
