More Iron Maiden Eddie the Head, the long running mascot of Iron Maiden, has become an unofficial symbol for political parties in Spain.
Various parties have started displaying the mascot in protest against Basque separatist groups who hang their flags at council meetings in Villava, Navarre.
Separatists claim Navarre, a region in northern Spain, is party of the Basque country. A belief which has been contested by rival parties.
Socialist leader, José Luis Uriz, told the Guardian: "The Iron Maiden flag means a lot to me. If I have to put up with their flag, they'll have to put up with Eddie's face."
The Conservative Navarresse People's union party have also joined the protest.
They often display flags of the local La Liga football club, Osasuna on their desks.
